FAQ

Straight answers about HoodMasks, Robinhood Chain, and the $HOODMASK token. If something you're checking isn't here, the announcements go to X first.

01The collection

The collection

What is a HoodMask?

A HoodMask is an NFT — a token in your wallet that proves you own a specific piece of art — and your on-chain identity inside the Hood ecosystem. It's permanent once minted; you own it, not us, and it lives in your wallet rather than on our servers. What it unlocks is designed to expand as more Hood products ship.

How many HoodMasks are there?

The Genesis collection is fixed at 7,777 NFTs, across six mask designs — Acid, Cyber, Void, Ember, Punk, and Royalty. That number doesn't change once the contract is deployed: 7,777 is the final supply, not a starting point that grows later, and no additional Genesis masks will be added on top of it.

When is the mint, and how much will it cost?

No date is set and no price has been announced yet. Both will be confirmed and published here, and on X, once they're finalized. Treat any date or price quoted elsewhere — a DM, a third-party site, a group chat — as unofficial until it matches what's posted through those two channels.

What do I actually get for holding a HoodMask?

The Mask is your identity and membership in the Hood ecosystem. Concrete utility ships as Hood products go live — the design is that holding a Mask reduces the performance fee on yield earned through HoodVault, with the exact rate to be published when HoodVault reaches mainnet. More utility is planned as HoodSwap and HoodTracker come online.
02Robinhood Chain

Robinhood Chain

What is Robinhood Chain?

Robinhood Chain is a Layer 2 blockchain built by Robinhood Markets, Inc. for tokenized real-world assets like stocks and funds. It's fully compatible with Ethereum's smart-contract standard, which is why HoodMasks — an NFT project — can be built on it. See our full explainer for details.

Is HoodMasks affiliated with, or endorsed by, Robinhood?

No. HoodMasks is an independent community project built on Robinhood Chain. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Robinhood Markets, Inc. in any way. Robinhood did not review, approve, fund, or sponsor this collection — deploying on the chain doesn't require or imply a relationship with the company that built it.

Why build on Robinhood Chain instead of Ethereum directly?

Robinhood Chain is a permissionless, EVM-compatible chain that settles to Ethereum, so standard smart-contract tooling works the same way it does on Ethereum. It's also where a new wave of finance-first, non-crypto-native users is expected to show up first — which is the audience HoodMasks is building an identity and culture for.
03The $HOODMASK token

The $HOODMASK token

Is $HOODMASK live? Can I buy it somewhere?

No. There is currently no official $HOODMASK token or contract address, anywhere, on any chain. Nothing you can buy today is the real $HOODMASK, no matter what a website, a wallet prompt, a Telegram group, or an influencer post tells you — if it claims to be tradeable right now, it is not the token we will eventually launch.

I found a token called $HOODMASK on a DEX or in my wallet. Is it real?

No. Any token calling itself $HOODMASK before our official announcement is not ours. This includes tokens that copy our name, logo, or branding. Do not buy it, do not approve it, and do not connect your wallet to interact with it.

Will there be a $HOODMASK token eventually?

The roadmap describes $HOODMASK as the intended economic and utility layer of the Hood ecosystem, alongside the NFT. It is currently in development. No contract is deployed, and no tokenomics, supply, or distribution details have been published yet — those will come before any launch.

Where will the real $HOODMASK be announced?

Any official launch will be announced on X (@HoodMasks) first, and reflected on this site afterward. If you see a $HOODMASK claim anywhere else — a different X account, a Discord you were invited to, a search ad — treat it as fake until it's confirmed through those two channels, in that order.
04Wallets, security & the ecosystem

Wallets, security & the ecosystem

Do I need a crypto wallet to hold a HoodMask?

Yes. A HoodMask is an NFT, which means it lives in a self-custody wallet — a wallet only you control, with no company holding the asset on your behalf. Popular options include browser extension wallets and wallet apps on your phone.

What does self-custody mean, and why does it matter?

Self-custody means you hold your own private keys, and therefore your own assets, instead of a company holding them for you. It means nobody can freeze or take your HoodMask, but it also means there's no customer support line if you lose access — you are responsible for keeping your wallet secure.

What are HoodSwap, HoodVault, and HoodTracker?

They're the three product layers of the Hood ecosystem. HoodSwap is the trading and liquidity layer. HoodVault is the capital and strategy layer — an automated, on-chain vault system. HoodTracker is the intelligence layer, for tracking tokenized stocks, crypto, wallets, and positions on Robinhood Chain. HoodVault is deployed and smoke-tested on Robinhood Chain testnet and is not audited; its mainnet launch is gated on an audit. HoodSwap and HoodTracker are in development.

How do I avoid impersonation scams?

Only trust announcements from x.com/HoodMasks and this website. Never connect your wallet to a site linked from a DM, comment, or ad claiming to be HoodMasks. A legitimate mint will only ever ask for ETH to pay the mint price — it will never ask you to approve access to your existing tokens or NFTs, sign a blind message, or hand over a seed phrase or private key. Any page asking for those is not HoodMasks.
